New Code and updated fees for 25/26

After consultation with the group the draft Farm Dairy Premises Effluent Management Code of Practice was approved and then forwarded to the Minister in June 2025 for their approval. The fee increase is effective from 1 August 2025.

2022 Review of TDIA and 2024 Stakeholder Reference Group Review

In June 2024 TDIA sent out expressions of interest to take part in a “Stakeholder Reference Group" to review and provide input into the current Farm Dairy Premises Effluent Management Code of Practice, and how this could be improved to better serve the users of the Code.

Accreditation and Transitional Arrangements (PPSA)

The Primary Produce Safety (Dairy) Regulations 2024, developed under Section 9 of the Primary Produce Safety Act 2011 (“the PPSA”) came into effect, and as a result the TDIA are now regulating under this Act.

New regulations are coming

The new Dairy Regulations are not intended to apply increased expectations on our farmers and/or dairy businesses, they will merely provide the ability for the TDIA to be more efficient and effective in ensuing safe food is supplied to the community.
