How do we work with other regulatory bodies?

TDIA works closely with local, State and Commonwealth bodies to ensure that legislation is applied fairly and consistently, whilst protecting consumers and our markets.

We have working agreements with local Councils, the State Department of Health and Human Services, and the Tasmanian Environment Protection Authority to inform and support each other in the application of legislation as it relates to food safety and the environment.

We also have a working agreement with the Commonwealth Department of Agriculture and Water Resources, Food Division, to act as Authorised Officers under the Export Control Act 1982.  This enables us to conduct export audits for our licensees - thereby reducing regulatory burden and costs for our exporters of dairy products.
