TDIA works closely with new manufacturers before they become licensed to ensure they are aware of their obligations, and to offer advice and assistance. We encourage people to contact us for help at the earliest stages of planning their business.
TDIA have also offered reduced-price, nationally-accredited training to licensees to assist with increasing knowledge and skills in food safety, and has provided free training in the area of food safety risks, incorporating basic microbiology.
TDIA include budget allocations for training for licensees, to ensure Tasmania's dairy participants receive appropriate training to assist them in their businesses - we want our industry to have the best people making the best products!
TDIA supplies information and guidance materials to assist in the design of food safety programmes, particularly for smaller factories.
TDIA can provide a generic food safety program for farmers that supply their own manufacturing or processing business.
At audit, TDIA provides further advice and guidance to encourage and assist the auditee to meet requirements.
TDIA assists those who wish to enter the export market by providing information and conducting gap audits of premises and systems to assist with the understanding of export requirements for factories.
In the event of a factory finding issues with contaminated product, or the need for a product withdrawal or recall, TDIA can assist by offering technical advice and support.
