A vendor's licence is issued to persons (or entities) that sell or transport market milk.
Market milk is defined under the
Dairy
Industry Act 1994 as milk or cream for sale for human consumption as a liquid. This means that you need to have a licence if you intend to carry or deliver milk or cream.
Although vendors are not required to have a food safety program, they are required to ensure their products are carried and stored at below 5°C to ensure their safety.
TDIA will check that vendors can effectively monitor their transport temperatures, and that vehicles are kept clean.
